Keloids: Smooth, firm, raised, fibrous ( sometimes disfiguring) growths on the skin that form in wound sites. Keloids are more common in people with darker skin types.
Scars: Are made up of fibrous connective tissue over a site of trauma – texture tends to be smoother or rougher and thickened in various degrees compared to the surrounding unharmed natural skin.
Sessions needed: 1 – 2 – The entire growth is completely & safely removed. Anaesthetic applied.
Post procedure: A light crusting with a mild degree of swelling will be visible covering the lasered sites which will dry out and flake after 7 – 14 days +/-. The soft pinkish skin that is exposed needs to be protected with a sunblock daily until natural skin colouring returns.
